To the beautiful country of water and fire

Exhibition of Two Artists, Fukumi Shimura and Yoko Shimura

We are going to present an exhibition by a mother and a daughter, Fukumi Shimura (A Living National Treasure), who breathes life into every thread, and express the changes of plant colours, and creates artistic fabric, and Yoko Shimura, who has been fascinated by making Indigo dye, and who pursues the goal to make fabric which is original and innovative, in Kumamoto. Kumamoto is a capital of water, forests, and nature, cultivated by Mt. Aso. Please visit and enjoy the expressions of weavings emerging from lights, and also enjoy the lively sensation and elaborately designed works.
